Subscription

What is free, what Pro adds, and how billing works — which is to say, how it happens somewhere we cannot see.

Screenshots are from the iPhone app. Everything shown on this page works the same way in the Android app, drawn in Android's own style.

What is free

The part that matters most is free, permanently, with no holding limit: recording your inventory, current spot prices for every supported metal, the Portfolio dashboard, the dealer directory, CSV export, demo mode, the privacy ledger, and encrypted backup and restore — including writing a backup straight to your own cloud storage — with reminders.

We are not willing to paywall the feature that stops you losing everything. Backing up, restoring, and choosing where the file goes are all free, and they stay free.

Free prices are in US dollars. Everything the app values — spot, your total, the charts — is shown in dollars on the free tier. Seeing it in your own currency instead is what Pro adds, and it is the one thing on this page you cannot work around locally: the exchange rates come from a service we run, pay for, and keep running.

What Pro adds

FeatureWhat you get
Currency conversionYour inventory in your own money — 43 currencies beyond the dollar, at central-bank reference rates.
SharingShare Abdita with people you trust, end-to-end encrypted.
Price alertsThreshold rules on spot price, checked and delivered by your own phone.
Extended history90-day and 1-year chart ranges.
Unattended backupBackups that happen without you, on a schedule, checked afterwards to confirm they still open.
Estate ExportAn encrypted PDF your heirs can actually open.

Pro is $1.99 a month or $14.99 a year, after a 7-day free trial. A Pro subscription unlocks the rest of Abditex Pro too, at no extra cost.

Two things that used to be Pro are not any more: writing backups to your own cloud storage, and the backup calendar. Both cost us nothing per user, and a gate that recovers nothing is just a gate. See Backup & estate.

How billing works

Through the App Store or Google Play, entirely. We never see your card, your billing address, or your store account. The platform tells our server that a valid subscription exists, and our server issues an opaque token that unlocks Pro features — a token with no name attached to it, because we have no name to attach.

Family Sharing

Abditex Pro works with Apple Family Sharing and Google Play Family Library. One subscription covers your family group under the platform's own rules; there is nothing to configure in the app.

Worth knowing: when a subscription is shared this way, the platform is the one that decides who is in the family. We see a valid entitlement, not a roster of relatives.

Restore Purchases

More ▸ Subscription ▸ Restore. Use it after reinstalling, on a new phone, or if Pro features look locked when they should not be. It asks the store what you already own; there is no password of ours to remember, because there is no account of ours to have.

Redeem a code

Beta testers, reviewers, and the occasional apology come with a code. More ▸ Subscription ▸ Redeem a code, type it in, and Pro unlocks the same way a purchase does. Codes look like ABCD-EFGH-JKMN-PQRS; capitals, spaces and dashes make no difference.

An Abditex code is ours, not the App Store's. There is nothing to redeem in your Apple or Google account and no store sheet to open — type it into the app.

Managing or cancelling

Subscriptions are managed where they were bought — in your Apple or Google account settings, not in our app. We cannot cancel, refund, or change your subscription, and any message claiming to be us asking for billing details is not us.

If Pro lapses, nothing is deleted. Your inventory, holdings, and backups are all still there; the Pro features simply stop until it is renewed.

On a sharing, a lapse stops sending. On a sharing somebody else runs, adding, editing and deleting shared items are refused outright rather than saved and lost, and the app tells you which subscription is the reason instead of failing quietly. Your own Abdita are untouched the whole time, and renewing restores the rest.
