Terms of service

These terms govern your use of the Abditex Bullion app and related services. We have tried to write them in plain English. Where we have to use specific legal phrasing, we explain why.

Who this is between

"Abditex," "we," and "us" refer to the operator of the Abditex Bullion app and the services at abditex.com and api.abditex.com. "You" means you, the user of the app. By installing or using the app, you agree to these terms.

What we provide

We provide a mobile app for tracking your physical bullion inventory privately, with optional paid features (alerts, shared inventory, extended history, Estate Export, cloud backup, priority support). We provide the supporting services those features require: spot prices, the dealer directory, and an end-to-end-encrypted sync relay.

We do not provide investment advice, valuations for legal or tax purposes, custody of physical assets, brokerage, or insurance.

Acceptable use

Use the app for its intended purpose: tracking bullion you own or are otherwise entitled to track. Do not:

  • Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract keys or credentials from the app, server, or protocol, except where applicable law expressly permits it and you have first notified us at security@abditex.com.
  • Abuse the sync relay or any other server endpoint with traffic patterns intended to disrupt service.
  • Use the app to facilitate activity that is illegal in your jurisdiction.
  • Misrepresent affiliate relationships or attempt to manipulate the dealer directory.

Subscriptions

Pro features are sold through the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android). Billing, renewal, refunds, and cancellation are handled by the platform under the platform's own terms. We do not control billing and cannot process refunds; please use the platform's refund process.

Family Sharing is supported per the platform's mechanics. If a Pro subscription is shared with you via Family Sharing and the family organizer cancels, your access ends at the next renewal boundary.

Free tier

The free tier is genuinely free and is not a trial. It includes unlimited holdings, spot prices, the dealer directory, encrypted local backup, CSV export, and the full privacy ledger. We will not retroactively move free features behind the Pro tier.

Open-source code

The Abditex client source is published under the PolyForm Noncommercial License 1.0.0 with an Abditex-specific rider. You may read, modify, and run the code for noncommercial purposes; you may not ship a commercial product based on it. The license file in the public repository is authoritative.

Service availability

We aim for high availability on the supporting services, but we do not guarantee uptime. The local-first architecture means that the app continues to work without server access for the features that don't require server data; only the network-dependent features (spot prices, directory updates, sync, alerts) are affected by an outage.

Service shutdown

If we ever need to discontinue the service, we commit to an orderly shutdown: at least 90 days' notice in-app and on this site, a final dealer-directory snapshot delivered to existing users, free Pro access through the shutdown date, and clear instructions for exporting and preserving your local data. The exact procedure is documented in our threat model.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

The service is provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that valuations, spot prices, or dealer directory entries are accurate, complete, or current. Do not rely on the app for legally significant valuations (insurance, estate, tax) without independent verification.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for Pro in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms at any time. Changes take effect when they are posted to this page. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted means you accept them.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Oregon, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. If a dispute arises and cannot be resolved informally, it will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Oregon, and you agree to their jurisdiction and venue.
